One of my favourite luxurious treats, a hot chocolate can give you a warming pick-me-up however cold it is outside. Adding maca powder- the peruvian superfood- and making it dairy free means the taste is decadent but the ingredients are nutritious and wholesome.
500ml almond milk
2tbsp raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp maca powder (optional)
1 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
Small pinch of sea salt
Whisk all the ingredients together in a saucepan over a medium heat, stirring the mixture until it is hot but not boiling. Pour into cups and serve.
